How to Keep Your Bathroom Clean When You’re Short on Time

As a busy mom, I get it – finding time to clean the bathroom can feel like a never-ending task. That’s why I’ve found a system that works for me, keeping things fresh without spending hours cleaning every week.

I clean my entire bathroom twice a month, but I maintain it in between with a few simple tasks that take only about 10 minutes every few days. Here’s what I do:

– Wipe down the counters every few days. A quick swipe makes a huge difference in keeping the bathroom looking tidy.
– Clean the shower every 5-7 days. This prevents soap scum from building up, so it’s easier to manage.
– Wash towels every 4-5 days. I realized that after a couple of years, our old towels weren’t drying properly and started to smell, so I invested in new ones, which last about 5 days between washes.

Twice-Monthly Deep Clean

Twice a month, I do a more thorough cleaning. This includes:
1. Cleaning mirrors and sinks while checking drawers and cabinets to make sure they’re organized.
2. Scrubbing the shower and tub. My go-to for this? Dawn dish soap – it works wonders on soap scum!
3. Cleaning the toilet, inside and out, including behind it, which is easy to miss.
4. Vacuuming and mopping the floors to finish off.

Quick Tips to Keep Your Bathroom Fresh Between Cleans:
1. Put everything away when you’re done. Clear counters make a bathroom look instantly cleaner.
2. Hang towels properly so they can dry between uses.
3. Put dirty clothes in the laundry basket instead of leaving them on the floor.
4. Empty the trash regularly to avoid any lingering odors.
5. Turn on the bathroom fan during and after showers to reduce humidity and prevent mold. (This is something my kids often forget, and it drives me crazy!)

With just a few minutes of maintenance throughout the week, you can keep your bathroom looking fresh and clean without feeling overwhelmed!
