When you end up in Vegas instead of Annapolis. Well let me tell you what happened. The  weekend of Jimmy’s birthday, we had a weekend getaway planned for Annapolis. However two days before we were supposed to leave, the hubs found out he had Monday off. So long story short I started to look for flights to Vegas. The flights were actually pretty cheap. So I texted Jimmy and said let’s go to Vegas for the weekend. He got home from work on Wednesday night and we booked flights and a hotel for the weekend. So that is how we ended up in Vegas instead of Annapolis.

This trip was such a great trip for us in many ways. First of all we got to get away, Jimmy has been working crazy hours most of the year, so it was nice to get away. We flew in Friday night and just walked around and gambled a little bit. It was good to see Vegas back to normal, but man it was hot. We walked a lot, relaxed around the pool, ate, gambled and did some sightseeing over the weekend.

But what I really want to talk about is the food in Vegas. There are so many amazing places to eat in Vegas. I am going to give you my top places to eat.

For breakfast Mon Ami Gabi is THE PLACE to eat. I have been going there for years. I have tried other places, but just not as good. So we only go here for breakfast. I get the Bananas Foster French Toast and hub gets the Bananas Foster Waffles. They are no longer on the menu, but if you ask for them, they will make them. They are both so good and delicious. LIke I sometimes say I go to Vegas for breakfast. This place is a must in Vegas.

For dinner there are a few places we love. Gordon Ramsey’s Steak House which is at Paris. We ate here and everything was amazing. The service was topped notched. I don’t normally order steak out, but it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. This time we tried Bobby Flay’s new restaurant Amalfi. We didn’t have reservations, so we weren’t sure we would get in. However we went at 5pm when they opened and we were able to sit at the bar and eat. Jimmy got a steak and it was amazing. I ordered an appetizer and small pasta, both of which were out of this world. I was not disappointed. Their cocktails were amazing too. We also love The Eataly. The Eataly is at the Park MGM (which is smokefree). In The Eataly there are some restaurants, a sandwich, meat and cheese place and a wine bar to name a few. We have eaten at a few of these places here and never have been disappointed. The Gelato place is the best place for dessert.

One of our all time favorite places in Vegas, is actually outside Vegas in Henderson. It is called Biscuits and Bourbon. You have to go here. The selection of Bourbon is so big. The bartenders make the best drinks there. I mean I didn’t realize I liked bourbon until we went here. Their biscuits, goldfish mac and cheese and wings are so good. Jimmy loves their BBQ too. 

So if you go to Vegas, definitely try one, some or all of these places and let me know what you like the best!!
