Buffalo BBQ Wings

One of mine and Jimmy’s first dates was wings and football. So pretty much one of our favorite dates to this day is wings and football. Sometimes we go out and watch football and order wings. Other times we make them at home and do a stay at home date with Cashew.

Back in the day Jimmy would only eat buffalo wings, while I love trying different flavors of wings. He will venture out a little bit here and there, but he pretty much sticks to traditional wings.  I prefer the flat wings and we didn’t realize until five year ago that we can actually order all flats at some restaurants. We also learned that we love grilled wings and homemade more than the traditional fried wings. Plus grilled wings and baked wings are a little bit healthier, which is always a good thing.

When we first moved to our town we tried a local restaurant and Rusty the bartender suggested wings buffalo wings with BBQ sauce, they were known as wings the Rusty way. Well Rusty has since left that restaurant and we now make wings at home the Rusty way. I love seasoning wings with salt and pepper and adding some dry rub. It just adds a little bit more flavor. The only BBQ sauce we use in our is Rufus BBQ sauce, you have to try their sauce. You can thank me later. Texas Pete is our favorite buffalo sauce. I love that they have mild and hot.I also add sauce half through the cooking time, so the sauce cooks into the wings. When I take them out of the oven I add the rest of the sauce. These wings are just perfect for your game day!!

Happy Football Season!!
