We love breakfast in our house. It is honestly probably my favorite meal of the day. So usually on Sunday we will have breakfast!! By breakfast I mean a cooked breakfast and not a shake. This french toast recipe is inspired by MonaAmiGabi in Vegas. Don’t laugh we literally go to Vegas for their breakfast. So plan a day and makes this for breakfast, it will become your new favorite french toast.
Ingredients
- ⅔ cup milk (I use 2% milk)
- 2 large eggs room temperature
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Maple Brown Sugar Swirl Potato Bread
- Spray butter
- Cinnamon sugar
- Favorite toppings
- Butter
Directions
- In a small bowl whisk together eggs and milk.
- Add brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon and salt to egg mixture.
- On low/medium heat melt butter on a skillet.
- Dip each side of a slice of bread into the mixture and place on the skillet, let cook for 2 minutes, before flipping over.
- Once each slice has been flipped over, spray the side facing up with spray butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, let cook for 2 minutes.
- Flip each slice over and spray the side facing up with spray butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
- Flip over and let it cook for another minute.
- Flip over one more time for an even cooking on each side.
- Serve with your favorite toppings like real maple syrup, powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar.
Tips & Recommendations
If you don’t have spray butter, just sprinkle the cinnamon sugar on each side and let cook. You can substitute bread, but I totally find the maple brown sugar bread is the best. You want to use a thicker slice bread for french toast.
