RECIPE

Buffalo Chicken Dip

This week I am sharing some of our favorites for game day. I don’t know if you are a huge fan football like we are, but we love watching football on Sundays. We are starting the week with a top favorite of ours…buffalo chicken dip. Buffalo chicken dip is a must have for football season. We usually do it a few Sundays during football season and we definitely do it for the Super Bowl.

You can either make this in a crockpot or bake it in a baking dish. We do it both ways and I have directions for both ways below. They both taste amazing, because this really is the best dip out there. I will say for a party I definitely prefer the crockpot method. If it just the two of us, I usually do the baking dish.

If you are doing the baking dish method, make sure to slice the cream cheese and place randomly like above. It helps the cream cheese to melt easier.  We love to use Tillamook shredded cheese. First it tastes so good and it melts just wonderfully in dishes.

So are you team college or NFL? We are team NFL!

Happy Football Season!!????

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 8oz package of low fat Philadelphia cream cheese
  • ¾ cups Marie’s Blue Cheese Dressing
  • ¾ cup Texas Pete buffalo sauce
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices of cooked bacon optional

Directions

  1. Cook 4 chicken breasts, I season mine with salt and pepper and cook in the oven. You can boil chicken, I personally don’t like it that way. Shred chicken.
  2. In a crockpot, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, blue cheese dressing, buffalo sauce, Greek yogurt, cheddar cheese, bacon, salt and pepper.
  3. Cook on low heat, stirring a few times.
  4. Serve with Mission Chips or favorite chips.
  5. Or you can cook in a a baking dish. Spray bottom of baking with Pam. Place shredded chicken in dish. Pour the buffalo sauce over the chicken. Add the cream cheese in slices. Pour the blue cheese dressing over it. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Bake for 30 minutes. Pull dish out of the oven and stir the ingredients together. Bake for another 15-20 minutes.
Ready in 3 hours Serves 8 people

Tips & Recommendations

I think this dip is best with cooked or grilled chicken, I personally don’t like boiled chicken or canned chicken. You can substitute blue cheese dressing with ranch if you want. Dip will stay fresh for 3 days in the fridge.
