RECIPE
Chocolate Coffee Milkshake
When we were on vacation, we took the kids out for ice cream a few different times. At one of the places Jimmy and I were talking about what he was getting. Sometimes he gets just ice cream, other times a sundae and sometimes a milkshake. The kids didn’t know what a milkshake was. We were surprised, but not surprised. We knew when we got home, we would need to introduced them to milkshakes. In case you were wondering I just get ice cream on a cone with rainbow sprinkles.
When we were at our favorite coffee shop, they have a calendar with all national holidays and one of the days had national coffee milkshake day. I knew that would be a great first milkshake for them to try. They do love some ice cream and coffee.
Do you like a super thick milkshake that you need to eat with a spoon or one a little thinner that you can drink? I want one that I can drink, but not super thin. I start by adding ice to a blender. Then add the espresso powder, ice cream and milk. I want the I found by doing this it the espresso blends just right in the milkshake. I used a little less than 1 cup of milk. If you want it thicker I would suggest about 3/4 cup. The amount of milk will depend on the thickness of milkshake you want.
