RECIPE

Steak and Shrimp Skewers

Our family is definitely a surf and turf family. Us girls love a lot of fish and seafood. Jimmy and JJ love their red meat!! Jimmy will eat some fish and seafood, but if there is red meat, he will choose that. Us girls will eat both. My first choice will always be seafood and fish. So this recipe is perfect for us, it has the best of both worlds.

This recipe is so easy to make. I start by cutting the steak into bite size pieces. Next add the steak and shrimp with teriyaki sauce, salt, pepper and garlic powder to a freezer bag or bowl with a lid. Marinate for like 30 minutes. While this is marinating, soak your wooden skewers in warm water. If you are using metal skewers, you can skip this step. Cook for about 5ish minutes on each side. Serve with your favorite sides. We have served this with rice, salad and pasta salad.

That’s What’s Grilling ????

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin cut into small cubes about 1” in size
  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½-1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Directions

  1. Cut sirloin into cubes about 1” in size and place in a freezer bag or bowl with lid.
  2. Peel and devein shrimp if needed and place with the steak.
  3. Add teriyaki sauce, salt, pepper and garlic powder to the steak and shrimp. Make sure everything is well coated. Marinate for 30 minutes or so.
  4. While the meat is marinating, soak wooden skewers in warm water. These need to soak for 30 minutes or more. If you are using metal skewers skip this step.
  5. Preheat your grill on medium/high heat.
  6. Add steak and shrimp to each skewer, making sure to alternate between the two. I like to make sure the steak is on the outside of the shrimp on the C curve.
  7. Place skewers on the grill. Grill on each side for about 5 minutes.
  8. Serve with your favorite side dish and veggies.
