Watermelon Smoothie

Need a refreshing drink or a fun treat for your kiddos? This watermelon smoothie is a hit with my kids. I mean if there is a way to get more fruits and veggies in my kids, I am all for it. But honestly my kids are pretty good at eating fruits and veggies. They have been known to eat a quart of strawberries or a small watermelon in a sitting.

We froze some watermelon over night to make this smoothie. We added some ice, frozen strawberries, a banana, Greek yogurt, milk and honey to a blender. We let it blend away. We start with 1/2 cup of milk, because it really depends on if the watermelon is really juicy or if you have let the watermelon sit out a little bit before making the smoothie. So start with a 1/2 cup. Remember you can always add, but you can’t take away. I say this to my kids all the time, especially Isabella when we are in the kitchen baking.

Pour it into a glass. To finish it off, Lele drizzled a little bit of honey on top. (She might have a love for honey). Add a straw, a slice of watermelon and an herb if desired.
